Terms and Conditions
Cassine by KO — Commission Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 28th November 2025
These Terms & Conditions outline the agreement between Cassine by KO (“the Designer”) and the Client for all bespoke, custom-made, or hand-painted fashion commissions. By confirming a commission and/or paying the deposit, the Client agrees to these terms.
1. Sustainable Practice & Materials
Cassine by KO is committed to sustainability.
All commissioned garments are made from up-cycled, reclaimed, vintage, or second-hand materials, or from garments supplied by the Client.
Every piece is handmade, hand-finished, and/or hand-painted by the Designer.
Due to the nature of up-cycled materials, variations in texture, colour, and finish are normal and should be expected.
2. Commission Pathways
Clients may choose one of the following options:
Option 1 — Designer-Sourced Garment
The Designer sources a garment that suits the Client’s measurements, fit preferences, and design concept.
This option includes:
Sourcing the garment
Required alterations
Embroidered, tapestry, embellishments / hand-finished design work
Fees: Sourcing + alterations + artwork/design fee.
Option 2 — Client-Supplied Garment
The Client may supply their own garment (vintage, pre-loved, or newly purchased).
This option includes:
Embroidered, tapestry, embellishments / hand-finished design work
Alterations (if required)
Fees: Design fee + alterations (if applicable).
The Designer is not responsible for the quality, durability, or integrity of the Client’s garment.
3. Pricing, Invoices & Payment
A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to secure the commission.
Work begins only after the deposit has been received.
The remaining balance is due before collection/shipping of the final garment.
Additional changes, alterations, or design adjustments beyond the agreed brief will incur extra charges.
All prices are listed in £ Pounds unless otherwise stated.
4. Timelines & Deadlines
The Designer will provide an estimated timeframe at the start of the project.
Timelines depend on garment sourcing, material availability, the complexity of the artwork, and current studio bookings.
Deadlines can only be guaranteed once the deposit, measurements, and full brief are received.
The Designer is not liable for delays caused by late communication, incomplete information, or Client-requested changes.
5. Revisions & Changes
Each commission includes 3 rounds of minor revisions (colour adjustments, small design modifications).
Major changes (new concepts, significantly different artwork, or silhouette changes) will require a fee adjustment.
Once the final design is approved, no further changes can be made without additional charges.
6. Hand-Painted Artwork & Care
All Cassine by KO artwork is hand-painted or hand-finished.
As a result:
Minor variations, brush textures, and natural inconsistencies are part of the piece’s uniqueness.
Finished garments must be cared for following the Care Instructions provided.
The Designer is not responsible for damage caused by incorrect washing, wear, or mishandling after delivery.
7. Client Responsibilities
The Client agrees to:
Provide accurate measurements
Communicate design ideas, references, and preferences clearly
Check and confirm all details before production begins
Make payments by the required dates
Follow all garment care instructions after delivery
8. Shipping & Delivery
Shipping costs are the responsibility of the Client unless otherwise stated.
The Designer is not liable for delays, damages, or losses caused by postal or courier services.
For international orders, the Client is responsible for all customs fees, import taxes, and duties.
9. Cancellations & Refunds
All deposits are non-refundable.
If the Client cancels the commission after work has begun, payment is required for all work completed up to that point.
If the Designer must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, the Client will be refunded the deposit and any payments made for incomplete work.
10. Ownership, Usage Rights & Creative Control
The Designer retains full copyright over all artwork, sketches, patterns, and designs.
The Client receives the physical garment only — not the rights to replicate or reproduce the artwork.
All raw files, sketches, design drafts, or pattern files remain the property of the Designer.
The Designer retains creative control within the agreed brief.
11. Portfolio & Promotion
Cassine by KO may photograph and share the commissioned piece on social media, websites, exhibitions, and promotional materials.
If the Client wishes to keep the design private, they must notify the Designer before production begins.
12. Liability
The Designer is not liable for:
Wear and tear after delivery
Damage caused by incorrect washing or misuse
Issues relating to the structural integrity of Client-supplied garments
Delays caused by external services (sourcing, couriers, customs)
13. Agreement
By paying the deposit and/or confirming the commission, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
